Tresorit kicks off simpleCrypto Academy to share hands-on security skills with developers
With the goal of helping developers build more secure applications, we are launching a meetup series to share security skills and best practices.
Solving the cybersecurity skills shortage and building reliable products not only requires hiring cybersecurity engineers but improving the practical cybersecurity skills of all developers.
Handling sensitive user content is often the task of front-end and application engineers, and not dedicated cybersecurity teams. Instead of the theoretical background, these developers need practical skills and a knowledge of best practices. That’s where we want to help.
Cybersecurity workshops: making crypto accessible for all developers
Our workshops are tailored to developers without any previous security experience who want to write more secure code. The sessions are also for useful companies looking for ways to improve the security of their products and train their employees without necessarily involving cybersecurity consultants.
The first simpleCrypto workshops in San Francisco and the Bay Area focus on the highlights of recent mega-breach stories: the practical aspects of password security and the basics of public-key encryption. We also organize a special event with Turing Award-winner Martin Hellman and Dorothie Hellman. The sessions will show real-world examples based on developing our end-to-end encrypted file sharing system and provide actionable skills on how to easily implement security in all kinds of applications.
