Zurich, September 05, 2022 - Tresorit, the Swiss-Hungarian specialist for end-to-end encrypted cloud collaboration and a subsidiary of Swiss Post, is giving its customers the power to add sign documents electronically with the touch of a button.

The new tool fits seamlessly into Tresorit’s ultra-secure digital workspace platform, allowing
users to request signatures and manage documents safely and hassle-free. It’s the latest key step in the company’s creation of a comprehensive, protected and legally secure document management system, catering to the entire lifecycle of sensitive files in one integrated platform.

“In today’s world, handling paperless documents has become the central factor in how we
work securely and efficiently,” says Tresorit CEO and co-founder István Lám. “But in
practice, this can mean that companies need to deal with email chaos and file disruption.
Companies can put an end to this with our new functional package. Tresorit eSign isn’t just
an additional stand-alone solution, but an integrated function within our highly secure, endto-
end encrypted workspace and cloud collaboration platform. Customers benefit twice:
from maximum security for their sensitive documents, and from being able to enjoy the
greatest convenience possible in their day-to-day work.”

With Tresorit eSign, documents are digitally signed with a simple electronic signature (SES).
The signature of each contracting party is linked to the document in question to prove their
agreement with its content. In contrast to a qualified electronic signature (QES), an SES
requires no further proof of security or legitimacy.

At the touch of a button, Tresorit eSign can be used to send files to recipients who can view,
sign, or reject the document, adding appropriate comments if necessary. Users have a
constant overview of which signatures have been received, and which are still pending.
Since all documents are stored in Tresorit’s end-to-end encrypted environment, companies
retain complete control over contracts and their confidential content at all times. With the
help of tools such as set permissions, users can define who can view and edit each
document, and how often or for how long they can be accessed. For complete traceability,
file access is also logged in detail.

Another step towards a unified document management platform

With the roll-out simple electronic signatures, Tresorit is also laying the groundwork to later
offer customers more stringent, legally compliant qualified electronic signatures (QES) from
the same user-friendly platform.

“One of our overarching goals is to fully digitize document management, from file creation
and approval to the signing and archiving of documents,” says Lám. “To this end, we are now expanding our platform step-by-step to include a wider range of integrated eSignature services, so that soon we’ll be able to offer legally binding signing eSignatures in less than a minute.”

Availability and download

Tresorit eSign will be available from 5 September for all newly registered Tresorit customers, and generally from 15 September. Further details, as well as download options, can be found at www.tresorit.com/esign.
