Zurich, November 9, 2022 - Tresorit, the Swiss-Hungarian provider of end-to-end encrypted (e2ee) cloud collaboration solutions, today announced the updated version of Tresorit Email Encryption. The email security solution enables organizations to automatically encrypt their end users’ emails and email attachments, among other things.

 

Having introduced the first version of Tresorit Email Encryption in April 2022, the product was to be followed by further developments. The first batch of new functions is available for the Microsoft Outlook desktop application as of now.

How is Tresorit Email Encryption 2.0 different?

With Tresorit Email Encryption version 2.0, IT administrators can set email encryption rules for end users enabling organizations to stay compliant and regain control over the mission-critical data users tend to send via email. The rules are based on recipients, attachment availability to enforce and automate encrypting emails or to use encrypted links instead of attachments.

What is more, Tresorit simplified the workflow for end users; that is, there is no need to turn on or off encryption, the system itself enforces it. Users handle encrypted attachments at a distinct interface that is separated from regular, that is rather unsecure, attachments. They can send and receive large attachments of up to five gigabytes each without being warned by Outlook.

Secure exchange of mission-critical data

“The new version of Tresorit Email Encryption is the result of listening to our users and turning it into urgently needed functions right away,” says Istvan Lam, CEO and co-founder of Tresorit. “With Tresorit end-to-end encrypted emails, the secure exchange of mission-critical data, like patient data, financial statements or attorney-client privileged information doesn’t come at the price of usability.”

Tresorit keeps enhancing the rule set based on customer feedback and internal product security guidelines like zero-knowledge protocols. Further developments planned include encryption through content-based triggers like keywords and data types.
