David has a long history of leadership in security and privacy. He joined Symantec through the acquisition of Blue Coat Systems, a company specialized in cloud and web security. He also served as CEO for four years at Perspecsys, a cloud data encryption company. Before that, David was SVP Worldwide Sales and Marketing at digital platform security company Irdeto, a division of Naspers. David had also held a variety of executive positions at leading security businesses.
“We are delighted to welcome David on the board of Tresorit. For the expansion of end-to-end encryption, the partner and channel ecosystem are of key importance. As we provide on-premise equivalent security with our end-to-end encrypted file storage, we aim to help the migration of enterprises to the cloud. However, apart from file storage, there are many other areas where encryption can be relevant. That’s why we are looking to pursue integrations with other security technologies. We hope to significantly increase the share of business coming through partners. David will play a key role in achieving this objective” explains Istvan Lam, co-founder and CEO of Tresorit.
“Many businesses still use on-premise file servers as they are afraid to migrate to the cloud due to security reasons. Reaching them through digital channels can, therefore, be a challenge. In order to fit into their digitization strategy, Tresorit needs to establish channel partnerships. The goal is to create an ecosystem with integrations focusing on document collaboration such as email, log and SIEM analysis, SSO, IDaaS” David Canellos commented on the announcement. He added that he was very impressed with Tresorit’s rapid growth and with its portfolio of customers comprising of more than 25.000 business users globally from every industry.
With the addition of a new board member, we are expanding our talent pool and are looking to further bolster our plans for rapid growth. We will put a great importance on our channel strategy with specific focus on verticals such as legal, accounting, professional services, manufacturing, and health care.
