Tresorit wins ITU Telecom World Award
We are proud to share that Tresorit’s end-to-end encrypted file sync and sharing solution has been recognized with an award from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a UN specialized agency for ICTs, for its contribution to a safe online environment.
The Awards Programme at ITU Telecom World – a global event bringing together governments, corporates and tech SMEs to exhibit innovative solutions, network and to share knowledge – celebrates the most promising and effective initiatives using ICTs innovatively for social good. Tresorit was shortlisted in the SME category, and after rigorous consideration by the judges, it was picked as winner of the Host Country SME Award.
In an increasingly interconnected world where more data is generated and shared than ever before, the security and privacy of online information is paramount. People can choose from a myriad of tools to post, store and send information, but Tresorit brings an innovate approach to file storage and sharing. Tresorit protects files by encrypting them already on the user’s device before they are uploaded to the cloud. This ensures that information is only accessible to the users and those they authorize. No one else, not even Tresorit’s own developers, can decrypt the files.
“We are proud to contribute to the goals of ITU’s Connect 2030 Agenda promoting the development of information society. We envision an interconnected world where the fundamental human right to online privacy is upheld for everyone. We strive to empower businesses and individuals to safely work online by providing a secure environment where they can store and share their data; be it family photos or confidential business documents” commented Tresorit’s CIO, Szilveszter Szebeni, who presented before the judges.
