To prove Tresorit’s security, we posted a $50,000 bounty and invited leading universities and hackers to breach our service. Between April 2013 and October 2014, more than 1000 experts from 238 countries tried to win the prize. Participants represented the best talent at 49 organizations including MIT, Stanford, Caltech, and Harvard.
We cloned our production infrastructure to create the Hacking Arena, and granted participants the same access rights as Tresorit administrators to prove that even we can’t access our users’ stored data.
No one succeeded to date.
