Tresorit Joins the Allianz für Cyber-Sicherheit (ACS) in Germany

Zürich, Switzerland, August 13, 2019 – Tresorit, the end-to-end encrypted file sync and sharing solution which safeguards confidential information by design, joins the Allianz für Cyber-Sicherheit (Alliance for Cyber Security), a renowned initiative of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). As a member of the Alliance, Tresorit joins a group of leading companies and institutions who are experts in the field of cybersecurity, working towards strengthening Germany’s cyber resilience.

The Allianz für Cyber-Sicherheit was founded in 2012 by BSI in co-operation with the German Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and Germany’s digital association BITKOM. The alliance aims at reinforcing Germany’s capabilities against cyber-attacks. By offering a platform for cooperation between the industry, public authorities and the research community, the alliance facilitates exchange of expertise among members for increased cybersecurity.

The threats posed by cyberattacks represent a real challenge for the entire German economy. A recent YouGov survey, commissioned by Tresorit, revealed that 85% of German adults feel their personal data held by online services and websites is at risk from hackers. These concerns are not unfounded. Just a couple of weeks ago, leading bluechip companies like BASF, Henkel and Roche were amongst many to fall prey to a cyberattack in Germany.

Joining the Alliance, Tresorit has the opportunity to empower individuals and businesses to keep their files secure and regain control of their data along with its offering of an end-to-end encrypted file sync and sharing solution which protects confidential information by design. Given Tresorit encrypts information already before it leaves the user’s device and does not hold the user’s encryption keys or passwords, it can ensure that nobody, not even Tresorit’s own admins, can access their users’ highly sensitive content.

“We look forward to benefiting from knowledge sharing within the Allianz and are keen to bring our data security expertise to its members. With the proliferation and increasing sophistication of cyberattacks and data breaches, companies are looking for solutions to secure confidential files in the cloud. We are excited to share our expertise in the field of encryption to ensure that members can leverage the benefits of the cloud without having to worry about security” explained Istvan Lam, Tresorit’s CEO & founder.
